Romanian Economy in the Second Half of XIXth Century

Abstract


At the beginning of the twentieth century Romanian society is facing a challenge unprecedented in recent history a Romania. The main problem is modernization effort, more costs of this process that already threatened to radically transform the political, social and employment of land owners and those working agricultural land. Agrarian reform of 1864 only partially fulfilled expectations of all stakeholders such as the importance of solving this problem was major given that agriculture remains the main economic sector.
