Preventing Offenses of Sexual Abuse, Sexual Exploitation of Children and Child Pornography in the European Union

Ion Rusu

Abstract

Within this paper we conducted a general review of the provisions of the European legislative act, focusing on preventing child victimization. Prevention was approached on three major sections, namely information, during criminal proceedings and the end of these procedures. The conducted research is a novelty in the field, the European legislative act aimed at in general the establishment and implementation at the level of Member States of a complex of preventive measures that need to be taken internally, first legislatively and then logistically by each Member State. Since internally, the Romanian legislation does not provide many of the examined provisions, we consider that the work can be useful in the internal and European institutions with tasks in the field, the academic environment being the starting point for achieving further analysis and for the Romanian legislator.
