Comparative Law and Legal Translation

Abstract


Comparative law is a discipline that focuses on the rules governing various legal systems in order to determine to whatextent they differ from one another. The analysis of various legal norms gives the translator the ability to investigate relevanthistorical, social and cultural aspects of a nation and to identify the causes and effects of the various factors conditioning the legalsystems concerned.
