The Influence of Ukrainian Melos on the Passionarity of the Ukrainian Nation. «The Cossack was Riding behind the Danube»

Olena Bukhnieva, Larisa Bankul

Abstract

The article reveals some aspects of the emergence of Ukrainian songs associated with socio-political conditions in Ukraine in the XIX century. In the perception of contemporaries, the Ukrainian tone was combined with ideas about the Cossacks. A typical example of the Ukrainian melodies of that time can serve as a widely distributed and placed in printed collections a song of a lyrical character «The Cossack was riding behind the Danube" composed by the "Cossack-poet» S. Klimovsky.
