Culturological Concept Water in Dialect and Folklore Texts of Danube Region

Abstract


In the article presents an attempt of making a comparative description of the culturologicalconcept of water in Ukrainian, Bulgarian and Russian dialects of the Danube region on the basis ofanalysis of linear dialect and folklore texts of ceremonial subjects is undertaken. The semantic structureof the concept is represented by such values as “liquid”, “pure (saint) water”, “living water”, “deadwater”, “deep water”. In folklore texts, especially in wedding songs about love, about maiden destiny,semantic functionts of this concept are observed also at other lexemes, which denote the water space,for example, river, sea, well, Danube, ford, pond, rain, dew, etc. Water as a conceptual symbol indicatesthe corresponding ceremonial ritual element.
