A Romanian Aspirant to the Nobel Prize for Peace - V. A. Urechia

Anisoara Popa

Abstract

Much appreciated in his time in posterity, V. A. Urechia (1834 - 1901) vibrated the needs of his time, a polyhistorien, concerned with the history and philology, through education and policy, through literature and cultural messianism. Those who stopped on the activity of V. A. Urechia have issued conflicting opinions on originality and scientific value of its image in the past, on the importance of its political and social approaches.
