Abstract


The purpose of this article is to provide a brief examination of the situation in the MiddleEast through the realm of Islam as a power in a geographical and historical perspective by studyingthe interaction between the Arab and Muslim states that make up the MENA region, but also theinteraction between Islam as power and the West without neglecting the contemporary terroristorganizations and their potential to diminish the state sovereignty.
