Abstract
The given article deals with the symbolism of color in the British and Russian fairy-tale tradition, which is reflected in the science fiction literature. The symbolic meaning of the color palette in the science fiction works by R. Bradbury, C. Simak, A. and B. Strugatsky is analyzed. It is proved that folkloric indication of colors serves as the peculiar way of constructing a science fiction space and plays an important role in the understanding of the concept of works.
