Interlanguage Contacts of the German Settlers and the Peoples of Danube Region (1814-1940)

Abstract


The article is devoted to the presentation of interlanguage contacts of the German settlers and the peoples of Danube region, reflected in some texts of German colonists of Bessarabia. The report presents the different thematic groups of loanwords in the language of the German settlers who lived in the territory of Southern Bessarabia. The culturological and etymological analysis of the internal forms of borrowing is used in their description. Literary sources of the investigated material are presented by the texts about the history of German colonies in Bessarabia in the period of 1814-1940, written by the German historians, ethnographers, sociologists and publicists. The results of the work have a theoretical value from linguistic and cultorogical standpoints and also may be interesting in teaching German.
