Abstract
In the article the attention is drawn to the topic of the specific nature of literature lessons of the native land and their implementation in the school. The main purpose of this article is to form an idea of the native land as one of the regions of Ukraine in which various natural, socio-geographical and ecological processes take place; an acquisition of geographical knowledge and skills that lay the foundations of geographical and ecological culture of schoolchildren; reveal the geographical processes of regional and local natural phenomena; expand the scientific worldview; develop the ability to observe, compare, analyze, summarize and draw conclusions; promote the intellectual development of the individual.
