The Impact of Internet and E-commerce on Economic Growth

Abstract


Dynamic and rapid development of ICTs enabled the radical change in traditionalcommerce activities. Feature of the internet is the absence of intermediaries; the manufacturers areable to sell their products relatively easily to buyers via the internet. With this background, the presentpaper discusses the ways in which e-commerce give information to the consumers. E-commerce hasrevolutionized business, changing the shape of competition with internet creating an e-commercemarket place. With developments in the Internet and Web-based technologies, distinctions betweentraditional markets and the global electronic marketplace are gradually being narrowed down. In thelast period of time, Moldova has shown tremendous growth in the Ecommerce. Growing use of thePC and Internet is one of reasons for that. The present paper mainly aims to discuss the role ofInternet and E-commerce in economic growth.
