Studies about Economy of Energy Obtained Using Sea Waves Forces

Stefan Dragomir, Georgeta Dragomir

Abstract

The renewable energy sources (wind, solar energy, hydroelectric energy, the oceans, geothermal energy, biomass and biofuels) offer alternative to fossil fuels which contribute to thereduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The European Commission proposed, in 2020, a lens that 20%of the energy consumption of the EU to originate from renewable sources of energy (Directiva2009/28/CE). The power of sea waves could constitute a major source of renewable energy. The energyof the surf is operated when the electricity producers are placed on the surface of the oceans or seas. The energy provided is most often used in the Desalter installations. The theoretical potential global is8x105 TWh/year, which is 100 times the amount of energy that could be produced annually byconventional hidroenergeticefacilities.
