Ethnic Stereotypes and Attitudes of the Students of Ukrainian Danube Region

Abstract


the Article is devoted to the results of theoretical research aimed at the analysis and clarification of the concept of “ethnic stereotypes”, the study of the approaches of different authors to the interpretation of this phenomenon, the description of types of ethnic stereotypes and attitudes, the identification of mechanisms of their formation. The article presents a study of the features of the manifestation of ethnic stereotypes and attitudes in the multicultural environment of ISUH students, as well as its prospects for the development of students’ psychology. The ethnic structure of Ukrainian Danube region is caused by the interaction of different ethnic groups (Bulgarians, Gagauz, Ukrainians, Russians, Armenians, Jews and others), which requires tolerant attitude to other nationalities. In the region one can observe such types of ethnic stereotypes and attitudes as: auto - and heterostereotypes with positive and negative orientation, behavior stereotypes and stereotypes-performance.
