Agriculture of the Danube Region in the Discourse of Bessarabian Germans (1814/1940): Language Aspect

Abstract


The article is dedicated to the study of agricultural texts of the German colonists of Bessarabia (1814/1940). The article deals with the language specificity of vocabulary (words, word combinations) of tools for the cultivation, collection and processing of agricultural crops. The German agriculture of the Danube region is regarded as an important part of the development of Bessarabia in the middle of the 19-20th century. At the same time, the author pays attention to ways of realization of the linguo-cultural concept “Innovation” in texts of this type. Illustrative material of the article are the original texts of the German press in the author’s translation.
