Romanian Borrowings in Dialects Spread Between the Danube and the Dniester Rivers

Abstract


The article deals with the Romanian borrowings in the Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Russian, Gagauz dialects spread between the Danube and the Dniester rivers – multi-lingual area on the South of Odessa region. The author proves that a lot of Romanian lexical borrowings in these dialects are a distinguishing feature of their language systems. The majority of these lexemes exactly appeared on this territory as a result of a long-term influence of Romanian language.
