The Erasmus Implications in the European Higher Education System
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to present the policy pursued by the European Union for higher education, emphasizing the principles that underlie the Member States and the European institutions. At the same time, the article aims to analyze the Erasmus program, as an organization’s instrument which seeks to enhance the cooperation between states, and between universities. Therefore, the program should be analyzed taking into account both advantages and limitations. Finally, there is a need to observe the European Union’s plans for the next period and how institutions wish to put them into practice.
