The Arab States from the Middle East and Iran in Romania’s Foreign Policy Agenda

Eduard Rudolf Roth

Abstract

This paper aims to explore the geometry of the Romania’s relations with the Arab states from the Middle East (Kuwait, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Qatar, Yemen) and Iran, by unveiling the responsible elements that shaped the matrix of bilateral interactions in the period 1989-2010. Moreover, the paper will focus on the conceptual overlapping between Romania’s relations with these actors and the exogenous patterns of influences that played an important role in the articulation and development of Bucharest’s foreign policy deliverables.
