The Role of the Danube in the Economic Life of the Budjak Population in the ХІХ century

Abstract


Rivers have always played an important role in the development of the economy of individual regions. The Danube is one of the largest rivers in Europe. In the lower reaches it bathes the land of Budjak. In this article, we explored certain areas of economic activity, which became the basis for the formation of local economy in the ХІХ century. We analyzed the characteristics of the organization of fishing in the Danube Delta, identified the factors that contributed to its development. In the same article, the branches of agriculture and handicraft production were explored, which flourished thanks to irrigation by the waters of the Danube.
