The Actual Issues of Multicultural Education in Ukraine Besarab Region

Olena Bukhnieva, Larisa Bankul

Abstract

Traditionally, over 100 other ethnic groups live on the territory of Ukraine; some of them fall into the category of "national (autochthonous) minorities", that is, those who live in their historical lands, the rest settled later for a variety of reasons, including escaping armed conflicts in their own countries. The framework for implementing the rights of national minorities is enshrined in the National Strategy for the Protection of Human Rights for the Period up to 2020 and the Action Plan for its Implementation. The corresponding difficulties are also observed at the regional level, which is especially noticeable in a region like Odessa region, where the authorities responsible for interaction with the national minorities are structural units of the departments of culture and tourism of the regional state administrations and need personnel and other resources.
